Vietnam citizenship granted to 350 border residents
A ceremony was held in the mountainous district of Huong Hoa, the central province of Quang Tri, on October 2 to announce and present the President’s decision on granting Vietnamese citizenship to Lao migrants living in border areas.

The new Vietnamese citizens are in communes of Ba Tang, A Tuc, Xy, Thanh, Thuan, A Xing, Huong Phung, Huong Viet, Huong Lap in Huong Hoa district.
The provincial justice sector will issue necessary papers to them such as birth and marriage certificates, ID cards and household registration books.
In Quang Tri, 855 people have been approved for Vietnamese citizenship, 590 of them acquired the status.
