The forestry sector has set a target of achieving an export revenue of US$14 billion in 2021 despite encountering trade remedy cases and tax evasion lawsuits.

Vietnam earned about US$9 billion from wood exports in the first nine months of this year, a rise of 12 percent over the same period last year, the Association of Vietnam Timber and Forest Product (Vifores) reported.

Vietnam’s wood industry is poised to face a turbulent year ahead as a result of the complicated developments surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic in China and other countries globally, said Nguyen Ton Quyen, former Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association.
