Fighting against the enemy has long been the right and duty of any Vietnamese citizen. With the advent of COVID-19 pandemic – the current enemy that the Vietnamese government and people are fighting against –many so-called “anti-COVID-19 weapons” have been initiated by the government, enterprises, students, artists, engineers, farmers, etc. 

The “Rice ATM” dispensing bagful of rice for vulnerable populations during coronavirus lockdown that first appeared in HCMC early April has greatly drawn international attention. Big news agencies like CNN, Reuters, Strait Times have given the novel creation rave reviews. 

Hoang Tuan Anh came up with the idea of creating a “Rice ATM”, or automatic rice dispenser, to offer the disadvantaged free rice 24 hours a day, expecting to curb the potential nCoV cross transmissions when rice from charitable organizations are distributed in person.
