On April 24, Latin American news agency Prensa Latina published a story about 76-year-old war veteran Tran Van Thanh, who is riding more than 1,200 kilometers by motorbike from Vinh City (Nghe An Province) to Ho Chi Minh City. His goal is to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Half a century has passed since the Paris Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords) was signed on January 23, 1973. The significance and stature of the special diplomatic front – the Paris Conference on Vietnam, notably people-to-people diplomacy, have been affirmed over the past 50 years.

A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai special national historical site in Quang Tri province to mark the 46^th Reunification Day (April 30) and the 49^th anniversary of provincial liberation (May 1).
