In spite of geographical distance, one country in the Eastern Hemisphere and the other in the Western Hemisphere, Vietnam and Cuba have still maintained close relations since officially establishing diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960.

The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Parliamentarians Group has maintained its role as a bridge between peoples of the two countries, heard a recent meeting between the group and a delegation of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam.
