European leaders have reached a breakthrough agreement on a massive joint recovery package to cushion the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, the world recorded the highest number of 239,208 new cases, shattering all previous records of the number of people infected in one day. Till date, 13,923,283 people worldwide have been infected with Covid-19, including 591,780 deaths. More than 5 million Covid-19 patients are currently being treated, of which nearly 60,000 are in serious or critical illness.
