Trade resumed on August 18 at Tan Thanh Border Gate in the northern province of Lang Son after customs officials of Vietnam and China agreed on Covid-19 safety measures.

The first shipment of Vietnamese dragion fruit to China in the Lunar New Year was valued at VND2.8 billion (US$121,512).

Vietnam Customs will auction 200 containers, many of them with counterfeit goods from China, which have remained unclaimed for four months.

With the COVID-19  being under control, a series of activities in Vietnam ranging from tourism, trade, and education among others start to resume normal operation with proper preventive measures taken place. 

Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on 31 March that the Vietnamese Government has decided to suspend cross-border activities of individuals at main and secondary border gates, and trails in border areas sharing with Cambodia and Laos from April 1 as part of measures to effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today announced the temporary suspension of all border crossings with Vietnam,  according to the ministry’s letter dated 18 March 2020 addressed to Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia.

The first-round meeting of the joint working group on Vietnam-Cambodia border gates was held in Hanoi on January 9.
