On September 18 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Do Hung Viet met with eight ambassadors and chargé d'affaires from embassies in Hanoi and eight non-resident ambassadors from African countries.

In the first nine months of 2023, Vietnam's turnover with the African region increased by 4.7%, reaching US$4.35 billion. Many Vietnamese agricultural products exported to the region increased sharply in volume and value, such as rice, coffee, and cashew nuts.

Africa remains a prospective market for Vietnam although exports to this market declined 6.1% in the first five months of the year due to the Covid-19.
