The representative from Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on May 5 said that to help with difficulties caused by Covid-19 for overseas Vietnamese, residents in Cambodia and Laos, the city would spend VND2.5 billion ($108,245) from its Fund for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to support them.
Specifically, VND1.5 billion ($64,974) will be provided to Vietnamese expats and disadvantaged residents in Cambodia and VND1 billion ($43,316) for Vietnamese expats and disadvantaged citizens in Laos, Vietnamplus reported.
Earlier, the Southern city aided Cambodia VND1.6 billion ($69,294) in its Covid-19 fight.
The representative from Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also said it would assist the city’s Command of Border Guard VND1.5 billion ($64,974) in implementing the Covid-19 prevention and control.
Two delegations of Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city visited and presented gifts to frontline anti-epidemic forces in border areas of Long An and Binh Phuoc provinces. It supported each locality with VND1 billion ($43,316).
