Vietnam to host 13th ASEM Customs Directors-General and Commissioners Meeting
The General Department of Vietnam Customs will host the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 13) Customs Directors-General and Commissioners Meeting scheduled to take place in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on October 9-10.

Thanh said that the organisation of the meeting aims to fulfill member obligations of Vietnam within the framework of ASEM.
The meeting will be at a large scale with the participation of 53 delegations of Directors-General and Commissioners of customs agencies of ASEM member countries in addition to Secretary General of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), the European Union and representatives of Embassies of ASEM member countriesin Vietnam.
The ASEM Customs Directors-General and Commissioners Meeting acts as a forum to guide working groups to implement action plans as approved by Directors-General of ASEM customs.
The 13th ASEM Customs Directors-General and Commissioners Meeting will focus on four areas of trade facilitation and supply chain security, fighting counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights enforcement, social and environmental protection, and community connection and ASEM vision.
Ha Long’s Statement is expected to be issued at the meeting showing the commitments of Directors-General of ASEM customs on the goals and priorities of ASEM customs cooperation in the future as well as the ASEM customs Action Plan for the 2020-2021 period.
