The doors automatically close or open as programmed, depending on weather conditions and the health status of the chicken. The door sensors can help farmers control the amount of chickens getting in/out and the specific parameters of each chicken.
Smart fowl breeding was developed by students from Duy Tan University and Da Nang University of Technology to raise the quality of chicken raised in urban areas. |
With the parameters, the feed rations for chicken are determined according to their species, age and health condition.
The most important feature is that chickens can move around according to a proper scheme.
Nguyen Tran Hoang Linh, a student at Duy Tan University, the leader of the students’ team, said the physical movement improves chicken’s heath.
Raised in captivity, chicken lack motility, so their muscles and organs will be weak, thus affecting the quality of the meat.
The students created a floor which can move and is operated at different speeds to give different practice regimes.
The movement mode of the chickens is set up based on information about their health conditions. The AI (artificial intelligence) system suggests the most proper solutions to be applied in different stages of breeding.
Le Quoc Trieu, a student at Duy Tan University, said the demand for clean and safe food is very high, particularly in urban areas.
Nguyen Huy Luat from the Da Nang University of Technology said chickens raised in the smart henhouse will have higher quality than those in other captive environments, because they receive an optimal regimen and proper physical practice.
