The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province celebrates its 26th founding anniversary

On the morning of May 18, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province held a meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Association, the Traditional Day of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association (May 23, 1950 - May 23, 2025). It is also the special celebration of the 26th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province (July 27, 1999 - July 27, 2025).

Seventy-five years ago, nearly 4 months after Vietnam and the Soviet Union officially established diplomatic relations, the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Association was established on May 23, 1950. This was an important event marking a historical milestone in the friendship between the Vietnamese people and the Soviet people.

At the meeting, a discussion titled "Deep memories of the former Soviet Union - the current Russian Federation" was held. Delegates and members were moved to recall their times in the former Soviet Union and the current Russian Federation, affirming that the friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation will never fade.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province for its many achievements in contributing positively to foreign affairs. Commemorative medals were presented to individuals with outstanding achievements, and the admission decisions were handed to new members.

On the same day, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Dong Nai province and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, together with Division 302, organized a visit to the Relic of Regiment 125 (Cam My district, Dong Nai province).

Nearly 500 delegates joined the program, including veterans who participated in international duty in Cambodia and are living in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. There are also officers and soldiers of Division 302 and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City. The delegates offered incense at the 125th Regiment Monument, which marks the founding of the 125th Regiment - the predecessor of the Royal Cambodian Army.

This is the opportunity for the delegates to listen to Vietnamese veterans tell their memories of the years supporting their country's escape from genocide, expressing the positive feelings of Cambodian students towards the country and people of Vietnam.
