A large number of families took their children to get the free examination and consultancy from doctors about cardiovascular health.
Of the 402 children who came, doctors diagnosed 63 cases of congenital heart defects and 13 cases needed heart surgeries. Heartbeat Vietnam will follow the cases of these children to support them soon in the near future. In this Outreach Clinic, Heart Hospital also sponsored the travel cost of more than USD 600 for over 200 poor and near poor families to come to the heart screening location.
With the sponsor from FedEx and support of Dien Bien Fund for Children and with doctors from Hanoi Heart Hospital and local officials, Heartbeat Vietnam was able to bring the opportunity of getting heart scanning at least once in a lifetime to the children of Dien Bien province.
Wishing to be able to help "Every baby have a heart check-up at least once in their lives", Heartbeat Vietnam will continue the journey of free screening in the future.
