A newly-published photo collection under such a theme, painted by Nguyen Phuc Long, 20, an architecture major, has recently gone viral on the Internet and touched the hearts of many Vietnamese netizens.
The image of a doctor in an overall protective gear, representing the medical personnel, is the main inspiration of the collection. Long depicts the doctor from different angels, from hugging the globe in her lap and pray, treating COVID-19 patients in the hospital, texting with her kid during break time, receiving flowers from a child, to smiling brightly when she finally contains the virus. All are creatively and artfully painted under the pen of the young man.
“I chose the light colors for the pictures since I wanted to bring a warm, close feeling to anyone seeing them”, Long was quoted by Thanh Nien as saying. “Through the pictures, I wanted to cheer the first-line medical personal on during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each of my paintings has its own meaning”.

“The photos are very beautiful. I’m especially captivated by the color theme. Looking at the pictures, I can imagine doctors, nurses and all working in the healthcare industry are carrying the whole country on their shoulders”, Nguyen Thi Tu Anh, 19, from Hanoi said. She added that she could feel positive energy and the warmness in those first responders, “which makes them more admirable”.
Along with the meaningful photo series, Long and his friends had won the first prize in the “Makeshift hospital ideas” contest, organized by the Association of Architects of Ho Chi Minh City.
